2. Estimated Overall Progress:-
40% actual versus 70% planned.
3. Reasons for Delays:-
- Contractor inefficiency.
- Sub-surface piles to be cut and removed.
- Tidal level higher than assumed; re-design needed.
4. Variations:-
- Adjustment of west drain invert levels and block heights due to re-design for higher tidal level.
- Filling of space between west drain wall and existing wall with lean mix concrete.
- Completion of demolition of front building to allow passage of equipment.
- Removal of sub-surface pile caps.
- Cleaning of east drain.
5. Corrective Action Plan:-
- The contractor was warned that he must increase his workforce if the work is to be completed on time otherwise liquidated damages may come into effect. This is especially relevant given the approaching rainy season. The contractor has agreed to appropriately increase the work force.
6. Recent Developments:-
- The proposed works for the east drain may be excised from the contract due to restrictions concerning the boundary line.
- Destruction of existing concrete bridge over east drain by backhoe.
